When water enters a property from outside, the visible damage may be only part of the problem. On this Central Los Angeles project, Green Planet Restoration was called in to perform the water-mitigation phase after exterior water intrusion affected the interior of the property.
Our scope included contents pack-out and moving, protecting the work area, establishing containment, selectively removing affected lower-wall materials, and using professional mitigation equipment. Reconstruction was not performed by Green Planet Restoration and was completed by another contractor.

Protecting Contents and Preparing the Work Area
Before selective demolition began, contents were moved and protected so the mitigation work could proceed safely. Pack-out and contents handling can help reduce secondary damage and create a controlled work area when water damage affects occupied spaces.

Containment and Selective Wall Removal
The affected work area was protected with floor covering and containment measures before lower-wall materials were selectively removed. This approach allowed access to the wall cavity while limiting unnecessary disturbance to surrounding finishes.
Once the affected lower section of the wall was opened, the interior cavity could be accessed as part of the mitigation process.
Mitigation Equipment and Controlled Work Conditions
Professional mitigation equipment was positioned in the work area as the project progressed. The photos document the mitigation phase and the controlled conditions established before the property moved on to reconstruction.

Green Planet Restoration performed the water mitigation and contents pack-out/moving for this project. The later reconstruction work was completed by another contractor. Keeping those scopes separate is important: the photos and this case study document GPR’s mitigation work only.
